Creative Dance
Creative Movement is a joyful way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy, stimulate imagination and promote creativity. Creative movement uses body actions to: communicate an image, communicate an idea or communicate a feeling. Children, through the use of movement learn about their bodies, the space around them and each other. Creative movement enhances motor skills, socialization, musicality, language, coordination and self-esteem in a friendly environment.
Ballet
Classical Ballet training, when taught correctly, can only do good. It helps children develop
coordination of mind and body and nurtures the ability to focus. It can improve, and correct posture, and helps to strengthen a child who is physically weak. Learning Ballet is a great confidence builder, and promotes self-discipline. It also gives children a sense of movement, rhythm and an appreciation of music. Ballet provides a strong foundation for all other forms of dance.
Modern/Contemporary
Modern dance is a structured discipline focusing on the principles of tension and relaxation, fall and recovery, suspension and contraction and release. Dancers will explore a wide range of movement through movement improvisation and choreography. Dancers will increase their flexibility and acquire a keen sense of body awareness while developing a keen sense of musicality.
Hip-Hop
High-energy classes that use the latest sounds in rap, R&B and pop music together with movements influenced by some of today’s video choreographers.
Jazz
Jazz uses high-energy movement in a diverse, powerful and dynamic dance style that improves overall coordination and flexibility. Jazz is fast paced ad focusses on isolations, jumping, turning and progressions.
Acro dance
Acro is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context.
Mini Hip-HopThis is a class for pre-school aged, funky-fresh kids! Teaching your little ones about musicality, rhythm and co-ordination, this program is perfect for any little dancer!
